Andrew discusses the right and wrong uses of Romans 8:28, which says God works all things together for good. He explains that in context, there are several qualifications that need to be met in order for God to work all things to our good.
-
All authority in the natural comes from laws. Police would be powerless if they were not enforcing laws. Likewise, in the spiritual realm, understanding the spiritual laws are a necessity for understanding and releasing authority.
-
God is sovereign in that He is all powerful and independent, but He has limited His sovereignty to His Word. Whatever His Word says is His will.
-
Whether or not we have authority is not the only issue. The manner in which we assert our authority is all important. Lawbreakers don't automatically submit to the police. Sometimes they have to be subdued.
-
Satan is not in direct conflict with God. That battle has already been fought and won by Jesus. All the devil can do is deceive us, and if we yield to him, we are the ones who stop God's power from working in us.
-
A police officer doesn't make laws; they just enforce them. A law enforcement officer's ability to exercise their authority is dependent on their knowledge of the laws.
-
Our battle is not against external forces. Our battle with the devil is right between our ears. If we can win the battle for our thoughts, we can defeat the devil.
-
Why did all the problems come upon Job? Where did they come from? Who did they come from? Andrew answers these questions and explains how this lines up with the rest of the Bible.
-
God is sovereign in that He is all powerful and independent, but He has limited His sovereignty to His Word. Whatever His Word says is His will.
-
Satan's only power is deception. That's why knowing the truth sets us free. The way some Christians are doing spiritual warfare, in the atmosphere, is inspired by the devil.
-
Like it or not, every one of us is in a spiritual war. God is for us, and the devil is against us. Whomever we cooperate with is the one that is going to have control over us.
-
Once we become aware of the spiritual forces we are dealing with, the most common mistake is to overrate our adversary. This tape explains that Satan's authority comes from us, not God.
-
God created Lucifer, a powerful, godly angel. But man made the devil what he is today. Satan is not using some superhuman angelic power to fight us. He is using the power and authority God gave to mankind.
-
Surprisingly, many of us have missed this most basic question related to spiritual authority. People are blaming circumstances, upbringing, social status, and a multitude of other things for all the ills in their lives.
-
Psalm 89:34 says that every word that comes out of God's mouth is a contract and He will never violate it. Therefore, when the Lord gave us authority, He limited what He will do to what we will do.
-
Part of the authority God has given us is to preach the Gospel to the lost. This means that God won't do what He told us to do. He won't save people just through prayer.
-
The Lord told Elijah to hide by the Brook Cherith. He HAD commanded the ravens to feed him THERE. His provision would be found where God told him to go.
-
Elijah succeeded as no other prophet. He started and ended a drought, multiplied food, raised a person from the dead, called fire down from heaven, and caused an entire nation to turn back to God.
